As you would have seen in Home Learning, Room 6 have been exploring Mathletics and what it is all about. From tasks, to challenges, to exploring; we have been familiarising ourselves with it all. These clever students all received bronze certificates this week, well done!

Finished Te Aroha Mural!
Room 6 have finished our mural. We couldn’t reach to put it up high where we wanted it to go so it is sitting proudly at the front of our classroom.
Assembly Friday Week 6

Mount Te Aroha Mural
Room 6 have been super busy putting together a mural of Mount Te Aroha to hang in our classroom. The planning, action and teamwork involved in this has taken us a couple of weeks. Room 6 have been learning about the famous post-impressionist painter, Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent wanted to be known as the painter of sunflowers. Pink Shirt Day!
Today Room 6 wore pink to school to bring awareness to bullying. Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness. It’s about creating a community where all people feel safe, valued and respected, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion or cultural background.
Two stars and a wish!
Room six have been learning to give each other feedback and feed-forward on their writing. This helps encourage them to take ownership of their learning. Today they read their writing to a buddy, who identified two things they did well and one ‘work on’……two stars and a wish! Here they are in action….
Pukeko STEM challenges
Since lots of students are at home isolating, Pukeko have been joining up this week to do Maths together. We have been doing STEM challenges including building the highest tower out of newspaper. Here we are in action!
